At SRFW (South Russia Fashion Week), the collection “Beauty in Details” was presented — a result of collaboration between designers Elena German and Tata Levina with perfumer Galina Zabaznova. This collection attracted attention with its fresh approach to fashion presentation.

Features of the collection:

  • Transformable clothing elements to create diverse looks
  • Predominantly black and white palette with bright accents
  • Original detachable parts that change the appearance of basic items
  • Use of fragrances as an additional element of the show

This approach to creating and showcasing clothing opens new horizons in the fashion world. It offers a rethinking not only of how we wear clothes but also of how we perceive fashion shows.

To gain a deeper understanding of the concept and process behind this unusual collection, we spoke with each of its creators.

Tata Levina | Wardrobe stylist / Fashion Designer

How did you balance creative vision with technical limitations in the collection? Were there any limitations?

When the idea of creating a joint collection was born, I chose a designer with very high professional technique in clothing construction, which is why my choice fell on Elena German! I was 100% sure that with her, there would be no technical limitations in executing complex elements of the collection, and our creative vision would align. Limitations exist only in our minds, and when people who see beauty and know how to bring it to life through their talent and experience work together, there are no limitations.

What contemporary trends did you adapt to create a unique style?

Modern trends towards uniqueness, individuality, and sustainability offer the opportunity to change the mood of your wardrobe for different purposes through interesting details, without overloading it with a large amount of clothing. This is how the “Beauty in Details” collection was born.

Tell us about the most unexpected source of inspiration for the collection.

The sources of inspiration were music, costume history, and our modern interpretation of the image of a luxurious woman.

We primarily used achromatic colors (black, white) because we consider them intellectual and suitable for any woman. And the color fuchsia, as a color of passion and love, was introduced selectively to add flavor to the collection. 🤍🖤💗

Tell us about your collection — what inspired you, what ideas did you want to bring to life, and what do you think turned out particularly successful?

The “Beauty in Details” collection was created in a creative tandem with a stylist, which combined my love for complex constructions and unusual details with Tatyana’s unparalleled sense of style and ability to create extraordinary yet wearable looks. The idea was to create original detachable clothing elements that can transform the simplest dress into a chic outfit. The most popular items became the fuchsia-colored rose sleeve and the ruffle boa.

What difficulties did you face when turning some bold stylistic ideas into actual clothing items? How did you overcome them?

The collection was created in one breath. Tatyana and I understood each other perfectly, there wasn’t the slightest difficulty either in the idea or in the implementation. We complemented each other wonderfully, which resulted in this magnificent collection!

How did your collaboration with the stylist influence your approach to design?

Designers often get carried away with creativity and move away from reality, while a stylist brings them back to earth, reminding that clothes need to be worn. Collaboration with a stylist provides an opportunity to create a more in-demand, commercial collection.

How was the idea born?

There’s an interesting fact in perfume history! The famous couturier Robert Piguet used his perfume collection to promote both his fragrances and his new clothing collection at his couture show in 1944! The show was an overwhelming success! Creating a collaboration between my perfume collection and Haute Couture had long been my dream! And when I was invited to become a partner of Fashion Week in Volgograd, this idea was incredibly well-received by the stylists! And it was implemented very effectively!

How were the fragrances chosen?

For the show of a very luxurious collection of evening looks by Elena German and Tatyana Levina, the fragrances accompanying the show had to be appropriate: * stunning* with a long-lasting trail* expensive-smelling, but at the same time unobtrusive, as the audience in the hall was very diverse! Most importantly, we had to choose fragrances that, when interacting with each other (the perfume was sprayed in a short time in the same space), would not clash, but when blending, would create an even more expensive scent.

What impact did the fragrances have on the audience’s perception of the collection?

It was very exciting for me, as it was a completely unique experience in Russia! Before the show, skeptics approached me, saying that the show should take place in a completely scent-free environment! That was the norm in the fashion world! As soon as the models came out onto the runway in luxurious outfits, spraying fragrances, the audience, who were already amazed by the beauty of the designers' collection, simply began to inhale the fragrant air with surprise!

The description of fragrances as a “magical substance, which maintains the evocative and somewhat poetic tone of the original
